Patrick Walters
Title: Senior Vice President
Patrick Walters is senior vice president of strategic planning and system development at Inova Health System.
In his role as senior vice president, he has led responsibilities include leading the expansion of Inova through merger, acquisition, and partnership development, as well as strategic planning and joint ventures. He also has executive responsibility for Inova’s disaster preparedness activities, which includes coordination with external regional agencies.
Prior to joining Inova, he served as president and chief executive officer of Alexandria Health Services Corporation and as administrator of Alexandria Hospital from 1992 to 1997. In 1997, Walters was key in the hospital’s merger with Inova Health System. When Alexandria Hospital became part of Inova, Walters led both Inova Alexandria and Inova Mount Vernon hospitals as their vice president and administrator. He also filled the role as interim CEO for Inova Fairfax Hospital, Inova Fairfax Hospital for Children and Inova Loudoun Hospital during leadership transitions.
Walters is an active member of the state and local business community. He is a membership of the Virginia Hospital and Healthcare Association and the Alexandria Rotary Club.
Walters earned his Master’s degree in Business Administration from George Mason University where he also conducted his undergraduate studies in finance and accounting.
